It's that time again!

Tomato time, that is. Last year, we had one plant in a pot -- a vine of "Sweet 100" tomatoes that grew over 6 feet tall and produced at well over 100 tomatoes. This year, I got a bit carried away at the nursery and came home with 4 types of tomatoes! The sweet 100 again (since it did so well last year), another small to medium size variety, and 2 heirloom varieties: Brandywine and Mr. Stripey. (How could you NOT come home with a plant called Mr. Stripey?) Anyway, we'll see how they do, but I'm excited! Of course, I'm the only one in the house who likes tomatoes, but oh, well! I'm also pleased as punch to report that the 3 fruit trees I got for Valentine's Day 2009 have survived an entire year! Whew! (We don't have the best track record on plant longevity around here.) This year I'm hoping for lots and lots of limes and more than the 3 oranges we had last year.
