Squares 18 - 20, and The Cutest Church I've Ever Seen

Here are my latest squares. I'm so happy to be caught up! Hooray! Now I need some new ideas....

Below are pictures of the cutest (and smallest) church I've ever seen. We stumbled onto this little gem while we were driving around Fort Stockton, Texas. We drove out to the site of the historic fort (which, truth be told, was not particularly exciting) and this little church was right next to it. I jumped out of the car to take pictures (I'm not sure the car was even fully stopped). This is an Episcopal Church that was built in the late 1800's. I love everything about it -- from the fantastic color blue, to the gingerbread trim (even on the cross!) to the stained glass windows, to its tiny size. My only regret was that it was locked and so we couldn't see the inside.

Technically, I think this is square 16, and the layer cake is actually 17. I'm not quite as far behind as I thought!

Squares 14 & 15

We have returned safely from our great New Mexico/West Texas road trip extravaganza! I did a bit of stitching while we were on the road, but fell a touch behind. Here are squares 14 and 15.

We had such a wonderful time on our trip -- saw really amazing things. I'll be posting some pics in the days to come, but here is one for today -- a heart shaped prickly pear cactus:

Square 13

Easter Crafting Party Recap, and Square 12

Yesterday was a busy day, full of glitter and candy! How fun is that? As usual, I got so busy and distracted during the party that I didn't get a lot of pictures taken. But hopefully this will give you an idea. We did 2 projects -- we decorated boxes (which I had spray-painted ahead of time), and we made paper wreaths. Above is my finished box.

After the party, I left a lot of the supplies out so that my girls could use them to make their own boxes when they got home from school. Both girls loved the fuzzy pink garland (as do I!), and they both made fuzzy, frilly boxes full of little Easter animals:


It was so fun -- can't wait to do another one! I did manage to squeeze in time to do my next square:

I was trying to do a very traditional looking open wreath with a bow at the bottom. I don't love the way it turned out, but what can you do? On to the next square! Overall, I love the way this sampler project is coming together:
